Pollution
Whats happening?
The thing that is most affecting the tundra (pollution wise) is global warming. Like the green house gasses get inside of the lichens and then the animals eat the lichens and they are poisoned. Oil spills can significantly damage the animals and their ecosystem. there are lots of invasive species that are taking over. There is also a ton of mercury in the tundra that are affecting the animals in the water, the mercury comes from our big industrial factory's.
What could happen?
Global warming would heavily affect the the tundra because all of the snow and the ice would melt, releasing a ton of carbon which would not be good. It would also destroy many animals habitats. It would not be good for anyone. Scientists say that by 2040 25% of the perma frost will be gone. The permafrost is basically the tundras freezer
