Labrador tea (Rhododendron tomentosum) is important for the environment because it is a producer, and without producers all the animals would die. Because the reindeer and all the other herbivores would die because they don't have any food and the all of the carnivores would die because they cant eat the herbivores. The labrador tea has adapted to be able to achieve photosynthesis in hard conditions, the dead leaves of the labrador tea are used for warmth, when it is cold it forms a carpet like state and when its warm it stands straight up . Bees are the only bugs that can pollinate it because its flowers are very poisonous.
Diamond willow (Salix bebbiana) is a good grazing source for the herbivores and humans. The diamond willow contains ten times the amount of vitamin C than an orange does and there is not many oranges in the tundra, so if you live in the tundra you should probably eat this. The diamond leaf willow has a few adaptations like being able to move close to the water, becoming in the winter and having long fuzzy hairs on their leaves to keep warm.
